At Home

At Home

We recently had our wonderful friend Elisha at our home, and she captured some photos of the girls & I. We watched Gimore Girls, played board games and read some books! I'm so grateful to you for capturing us so naturally Elisha.

I wanted to post a little update from me and these magical girls, as there have been big shifts in our personal life; and just in terms of growth. And as I get to shape and form Fable Heart along with us, it feels right to check in here.

As I’m watching my babies grow, and we embark on a period that contains some unknowns- like secondary school, our family unit changing, coparenting, house moves, I’ve really had to grapple with what feels right for me. And how best to show up here moving forward.

My life was once about birth, having a pretty garden, dress up. And it has naturally shifted to some topics that are less aesthetically pleasing; on the surface. Though I’ve found much beauty in them too. Finding a footing as a single adult, facing finances and business running alongside childcare, exploring ways I can keep myself well and healthy.

Much like the newborn stage, some of it is inevitably messy and painful. But without pain, there is no growth. And through the last few years, I’ve slowly learnt how to lean into growth, change, breaking down and rebuilding- and to see it as a good thing. A beautiful thing even.

I wanted to post this, because the community we’ve gathered here, feels like an old friend; a welcome constant. And though I am not exactly sure of the specifics yet- I do feel Fable Heart will grow with us. Storytelling, femininity, inclusion, honesty and the necessity for magic in our lives- will always remain. Because I deeply feel those things at my core. That’s what motherhood is to me.

I’m excited for this next chapter, the friendships and work that it will bring. And I’m so grateful for you all.

The biggest thanks to my friend Elisha for capturing these photos of the girls and I, and for sharing her art with us xx
